Travelling Annies 
Little Peoples First Aid Course

Do you know what to do for your child in an emergency? The ‘Travelling Annies Little People First Aid’ course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to help you confidently recognise, respond, and manage an emergency in your family.

You will obtain Nationally recognised training in HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support.

 

Additionally have access to an optional non-accredited Travelling Annies online course which you complete at your own pace.

The content of the non-accredited online Travelling Annies Little People courses reflects the illnesses and presentations commonly seen in Emergency Departments.

Two courses aimed at less than 1 year of age and 1-5 years, provides evidence based information and additional hints and suggestions for parents, all located in one handy presentation.

Note: this additional non accredited training does not lead to a nationally recognised certificate outcome. 

Unit Being Delivered

The following units will be included in your certificate:

  • HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support

  • HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Duration:

Enhanced Online Learning (EOL)

  • Online delivery with face to face Practical assessment – self paced online learning 

  • Face to face session allow 1.5hrs

Package 1 adult HLTAID010 and online component             $130.00

Package 2 adults HLTAID010 and online component           $215.00

What happens at the course?

Assessment Activities

Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

  • Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)

  • Perform CPR on an infant

  • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis

  • Manage a casualty with asthma

  • Manage a choking casualty

  • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock

Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.

  • Allergic reactions

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Adrenaline autoinjector

  • Croup

  • Bronchiolitis

  • Burns & Scolds

  • Fevers

  • Febrile convulsions

  • Gastroenteritis

  • Dehydration

  • Head injury

  • Poisoning
